Sign up for a course or workshop. PHIA classes and workshops are easy ways to continue your education. Each online course is offered in a streaming format that is easy to follow.
Your continuing education requirements can be in the form of:
Seminars - One CEU per hour
Audio-Conferences - One CEU per hour
Publications - written summary of an article pertaining to your specialty certification, One CEU per article.
Scenarios depicting real life experiences on the job - Must be related to your specialty certification - management, compliance, coding or billing. Scenario must include a solution (if problem), conclusion or final outcome (if billing situation or compliance issue) and/or codes (if its an E/M or operative report). Scenarios must be typed and must not include any PHI or employee information. (Good fiction is accepted!) One (1) to two (2) CEUs will be awarded per scenario depending on level of complexity.
Teaching - You may submit your time for teaching or speaking on a topic related to your specialty certification. Number of CEUs awarded for teaching will be determined by various factors. It will be necessary to contact your Member Liaison for final determination.
